A lot of people choose to get an artificial tree because they think that they don’t have the space for a live one, or they’re worried that it won’t last. Pot grown Christmas trees in Cork are perfect for small spaces. They’re live trees so you can watch them grow, and they come in a pot so you can take them with you when you move.
We grow both Noble fir and Nordmann fir on our Christmas tree farm, which are the most popular selling trees in Ireland. Noble fir are renowned for their inviting scent and dense branches, making them ideal for hanging a variety of ornaments. On the other hand, Nordmann fir trees are generally fuller, characterized by slightly upright branches that showcase decorations beautifully.
Consider the height of your room and the space where you'll place the tree. Ensure there's enough clearance between the tree top and the ceiling, taking into account the height of the tree stand and tree topper. As a general guideline, a room with an 8-foot ceiling typically accommodates a 6-7 foot tree.
Check for vibrant green needles that are resilient to touch and don't easily fall off. You can also tap the tree on the ground; a fresh tree will lose few needles while an older tree will shed many.
For the first day, fill the tree stand with water up to an inch. After that, ensure the water level never goes below the base of the tree. Check daily, as a tree can consume up to a gallon of water in 24 hours during the initial days.
Keep your tree away from direct heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, or direct sunlight. Regularly water the tree and ensure your room has some humidity. A humidifier can be beneficial in keeping the tree fresh longer.
